Sourcing
Cedex Steel maintains mill relationships in key manufacturing markets for all our product areas. Long-term mill relationships, and time spent at production facilities, means that our team has a thorough knowledge of both plant capabilities and of the people that are running them.
Logistics
As a key component of any supply package, we are hands-on in all areas of materials handling and movement. At country of origin we are involved in truck and barge transportation, storage and consolidation at port, container stuffing and arranging load-out services. We handle container and bulk shipping on liner, tramper and charter services.
At destination we assist with discharge and stevedoring, handle customs clearances and finally, transport to customer site.
If projects demand, we ship over dimension and long length cargoes, arrange special lifting equipment and work closely with clients to ensure project logistics requirements are met.
Financing
The various aspects of financing through the supply chain are handled including buy-side refinancing with mills, setting up and managing Letters of Credit, trade financing and extended payment term arrangements to customers.
Risk Management
Cedex Steel manages the foreign exchange risks and hedging for its customers. Marine and transport insurances cover product throughout the supply chain.
Environmental
Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) performance has become a key metric in project investment calculations in recent years in a trend that will only continue to strengthen in both public and private sector projects.
